Biography – Ms Gail Furness SC

Ms Gail Furness SC commenced as the NACC Inspector on 1 July 2023. Her appointment is part-time, for a period of 7 years.

Ms Furness SC has a part-time appointment as Inspector of the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption. The Attorney-General has agreed that Ms Furness SC continue in that appointment. Ms Furness’ jurisdiction as the NACC Inspector, which relates only to the NACC and its staff, is entirely separate to her jurisdiction as Inspector of the NSW ICAC which is only in relation to the NSW ICAC and its staff.

Ms Furness graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982 (BA) and from the University of Melbourne in 1985 (LLB (Hons)) and in 1989 (Master of Laws).

Ms Furness SC was called to the NSW Bar in 1997 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2010.
